Profile Expiration

Maintain ownership of your NFT Profile

NFT Profiles require an annual fee in order for the user to maintain ownership of the profile. If a profile expires, it can be claimed by anyone who pays to extend the expiration of the NFT Profile.

At minting, users can specify the period of the expiry they would like to prepay. This will add the prepayment cost to the mint transaction at profile creation.

Users will be able to track the status of their expiration as well as update their expiry period through the settings page for their profile. Paying for subsequent expiry periods from this page will trigger an on-chain transaction that will be signed from the user’s wallet.

However, those NFT Profiles minted from Genesis Keys are not required to pay a fee regardless of the address which holds the profile.

The NFT Profile will expire if a user does not pay to extend the expiry. This means that anyone can claim the NFT Profile by paying the expiry extension fee. The claiming user will have the NFT transferred to their address when paying the fee.
